NASCAR 06: Total Team Control
NASCAR 06: Total Team Control is a racing simulation published by EA Sports in August 2005 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It is the ninth installment in EA Sports' NASCAR series. The product features Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson on the cover.
NASCAR 06 follows the series' recent tradition of being subtitled with the major new feature of that edition. Total Team Control derives from the new teammate features: one can switch control from their driver to another car on their team during a race, and can command the teammate to follow, block or work with the player. It also implements Logitech USB audio technology, allowing the player to order their crew chief with a headset or microphone. The rest of the game retains the modes and features brought into the series by NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup, making NASCAR 06 very similar to its predecessor.
The game recieved positive ratings from many reviewers who praised the new teamplay features, adding to an already abundant amount of content. It is likewise criticized by fans and reviewers for subpar graphics, unrealistic damage, and not making the strides to the series NASCAR 2005 did; John Davidson, a reviewer on 1UP, called the features "gratuitous" and believes that they "[provide] a constant feeling of detachment" from the racing experience.

Removed Drivers
Many screenshots and videos for the game showed Bill Elliott driving the #91 Stanley Tools Dodge for NEXTEL Cup, but he ended up not being in the final version of the game for unknown reasons. In the Custom Car Garage, the #91 is unavailable for NEXTEL Cup which may prove that Elliott was removed late in the development stages. Also, the #11 is unavailable for the Busch Series which may indicate that Paul Menard was originally going to be in the game as well.
Features
While the game is, for the most part, similar to its NASCAR 2005 counterpart, it adds features subjective to the subtitle: teamplay. The player can swap cars with a teammate mid-race and give commands to the crew chief. NASCAR 2006 also features voice-recognition commands for teammates, the crew chief, or menus.
This edition of EA's program brings back in-car cameras, gone since 2004.
NASCAR 06 has a lower frame rate than previous NASCAR games. While still considered to be smooth overall, the graphics sometime "double up".
With a headset, you can call out commands to your crew chief to virtually do everything. The game's soundtrack tries to appeal to the masses of southern United States NASCAR fans, with artists like Joe Satriani.
